John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people through his music. Many of these have roots in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in affection with Colorado and later moved to Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his state brought many people to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was by far one of the top performers who embodies Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was chosen as the first Hall of Fame inductee. For many, Denver is the image of Colorado. In my journeys, you encounter someone on the other side of the world one from New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the first word that comes they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles after he performed with smaller folk groups. It was co-written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the track to Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single the moment he heard it for the first time. The singer recorded the song within a couple of days when he performed it in front of an enthusiastic audience at Washington D.C.
